25 year old guy with a passion for comics, literature, classic rock, cinema from all over the world, art, innovation and many other things. I am utterly asexual, but have been known to techgasm on occasion.

laurenmoran:

these are my sketches for an assignment where we have to come up with a cereal and make characters for it and stuff. i’m going with a zombie cereal called “inside outs” where the cereal is shaped like organs, and it also turns your milk red so its looks like blood while you’re eating it.
the two characters i came up with are two sisters, one who hunts down the “ingredients” (so, living people), and the other who prepares them. i still haven’t come up with names for them, but i know the one with the longer hair will be on the front of the box preparing the people, and on the back will be a maze where the taller one has to catch a human, and the outline for the maze will be intestines.

Most potentially disturbing cereal since Soylent Green. I LOVE IT!

Cameron Stewart just felt like drawing this, and so he did. I think I’m jealous of his ability.

Day 13: Artists who draw the hottest characters
Don’t go by the image. I just wanted to show random comic artists and I went with this shot from Chasing Amy. I did so because I have another non-answer response coming up (sorry). Basically, I find it varies by artist for different characters. For example, I love Black Canary by Cliff Chiang and to some extent Ed Benes, but it doesn’t feel as natural for ALL characters drawn by them (I do like Bruce and Savant as drawn by Benes, though). Adam Hughes does amazing cheesecake stuff for certain characters, but I find it overdone for others. Michael Turner had his strengths and his weaknesses, and while I like Deodato’s use of shadows for quite a few characters, I can’t say it works every time because it’s not even possible to make out what a few of them look like with the shadow. Sana Takeda’s been mentioned for the amazing Ms Marvel run, but there were a few Heroes for Hire covers where it just didn’t work.
Basically, it’s obvious when certain artists’ styles fit for certain characters, but they might not be able to use their gifts as well for a lot of others.
